A steel company has 4 air compressor stations with 12 centrifugal air compressors in total. During operation, the compressors frequently encounter problems such as reduced exhaust volume,
high resistance loss of airfilters and easy impeller wear. Replacing with imported filters can alleviate these issues to some extent, but it increases maintenance costs and workload,
and also greatly affects the service life of the equipment. Through analysis, adding a self-cleaning air filter in front of the centrifugal air compressors can effectively solve the above problems.
Shortcomings of the built-in air filtration device of air compressor units:
During the operation of air compressor units, a large amount of dust and solid particle impurities settle and accumulate on the filter elements.
Since the filtration device cannot self-clean, the filtration resistance increases continuously, causing damage to the filter elements.
A large number of dust and solid particle impurities in the air may then directly enter the working chamber of the unit and hit the high-speed rotating impellers,
resulting in impeller wear or even damage and bringing considerable economic losses.
Improvement measures:
Install one self-cleaning air filter outdoors for each air compressor, with the filter element 1.5 meters above the ground.
Then connect the self-cleaning filter to the built-in filter of the air compressor with stainless steel pipes. Air is filtered by the two filters in series before entering the air compressor for compression,
which can effectively solve the above problems.
Application effects:
Adding a self-cleaning air filter in front of each centrifugal air compressor not only effectively solves the problems of reduced unit exhaust volume,
high equipment downtime rate and heavy maintenance workload, but also greatly reduces maintenance costs and extends the service life of key components of the unit, achieving high economic benefits.
