Why does dust leak from self-cleaning air filters?

 The core causes fall into four main categories: filter cartridge failure, poor sealing, malfunction of the dust cleaning system, and improper installation/maintenance, 

and it is also related to the equipment's operating conditions and daily management. The specific common reasons are as follows:

1. Damaged, aged or clogged filter cartridges. The filter cartridge is the core filtration component. If the filter paper cracks or perforates due to long-term use, 

or the filter material ages and falls off or deforms with wrinkles, dust will directly penetrate and leak from the damaged parts.

 If the filter cartridge is severely clogged and not handled in a timely manner, the filtration resistance will surge, forcing dust to overflow from the gaps of the filter cartridge or weak parts of the equipment.

2. Damaged or improperly installed seals at all partsIf the gaskets (rubber or sponge gaskets) at the upper and lower ends of the filter cartridge,

 the seals between the equipment cover plate and the cylinder body, and the sealing materials at flange connections age and harden, deform and fall off, 

or are not compacted or dislocated during installation, sealing gaps will form, and dust will leak from these gaps. In addition, if the filter cartridge is not clamped tightly or fixed firmly during installation,

 vibration will occur during operation, which will also lead to larger sealing gaps and dust leakage.

3. Abnormal operation of the pulse backflushing dust cleaning system.

The dust cleaning system is the key to ensuring the normal operation of the filter. Malfunction of the pulse solenoid valve, insufficient backflushing air pressure (below the standard value), 

clogged or misaligned backflushing nozzles will lead to incomplete dust cleaning and continuous dust accumulation on the surface of the filter cartridge, 

which will not only increase the filtration resistance but also cause "filter penetration" due to an overly thick dust layer. Excessively high backflushing air pressure will directly blow through the filter cartridge paper, causing instantaneous dust leakage.

4. Problems with equipment installation and foundation fixation

Large level deviation or insecure foundation fixation during the overall installation of the filter will cause severe vibration of the equipment during operation, 

which will lead to loose filter cartridges, falling off of seals and cracking of cylinder connections in the long run, thus resulting in dust leakage.

 In addition, improper installation of the air inlet deflector will cause uneven air distribution and excessively high local air flow velocity, which will directly scour the filter cartridge, accelerate its damage and trigger dust leakage.

5 .Non-standard daily maintenance and operationIf residual dust in the cylinder body is not cleaned when replacing the filter cartridge, 

the residual dust will leak with the air flow after the new filter cartridge is installed. Failure to inspect and replace seals and filter cartridges regularly in accordance with regulations,

allowing vulnerable parts to age and fail; and failure to adjust the dust cleaning frequency in a timely manner under high dust concentration working conditions, 

leading to rapid dust accumulation, will all cause leakage problems.

6. Mismatch between equipment selection and working conditions. If the selected filtration area and air handling capacity of the filter are too small to match the actual on-site air volume and dust concentration,

 the filtration air velocity during operation will be too high, and dust cannot be effectively captured, leading to direct penetration and leakage through the filter material.

 In addition, if there is high-humidity and high-adhesion dust on-site and special moisture-resistant and anti-adhesion filter cartridges are not selected,

 dust will adhere to the surface of the filter cartridge and cannot be cleaned, ultimately resulting in dust leakage.
