How to Select Catalytic Combustion Equipment

When selecting catalytic combustion equipment, several factors need to be considered. Here are some key points:

Waste Gas Characteristics Analysis

Composition and Concentration: Clearly identify the types of organic compounds in the waste gas (e.g., benzene, toluene, ethyl acetate, etc.)

and their concentration range. Different organic compounds have different ignition temperatures; therefore, appropriate catalysts and equipment parameters must be selected based on the specific composition.

Air Volume and Flow Rate: Determine the equipment's processing air volume based on the amount of waste gas generated during the production process. Excessive or insufficient air volume will affect the treatment effect and equipment operating efficiency.

Catalyst Selection

Activity and Stability: Prioritize catalysts with high activity and good stability, such as catalysts supported on precious metals like palladium and platinum. These can effectively reduce the reaction temperature and improve purification efficiency. Simultaneously,

the catalyst should be able to adapt to fluctuations in waste gas temperature to avoid activity decrease or deactivation due to temperature changes.

Carrier Type:Common carriers include honeycomb ceramics and cordierite. Their large specific surface area and reasonable pore structure help the catalyst to fully contact the waste gas, improving reaction efficiency.

Equipment Materials

High Temperature and Corrosion Resistance: Select appropriate materials based on the temperature and composition of the exhaust gas. For high-temperature exhaust gases (exceeding 300℃), 304 stainless steel or higher heat-resistant materials are recommended.

If the exhaust gas contains corrosive components such as acids and alkalis, corrosion-resistant materials such as 316 stainless steel or materials with special coatings must be selected.

Material Thickness: Ensure the material thickness meets design requirements to avoid insufficient equipment strength or shortened service life due to excessively thin materials.

Safety Measures

Explosion-proof and Pressure Relief: The equipment should be equipped with reliable explosion-proof devices (such as explosion relief valves), flame arresters, and a nitrogen protection system to prevent explosions or backfires during combustion.

Temperature Monitoring and Alarm: Install multiple temperature sensors and over-temperature alarm devices to monitor the catalytic bed temperature in real time. When the temperature is abnormal, the heating power supply will be automatically cut off and emergency measures will be activated.

Energy Efficiency and Energy-Saving Design

Heat Recovery System: A high-efficiency heat exchanger can recover the heat generated by combustion for preheating the intake gas or providing energy for the desorption process, reducing energy consumption. The heat recovery rate should generally reach over 90%.

Intelligent Control System: Employing a PLC or DCS control system enables automated equipment operation. It automatically adjusts heating power and airflow based on parameters such as exhaust gas concentration and temperature, optimizing operational efficiency.

Equipment Brand and After-Sales Service

Manufacturer Qualifications and Experience: Choosing a qualified and experienced manufacturer ensures better product design, manufacturing, and quality control. Verify the manufacturer's production license and quality certification certificates.

After-Sales Service: A comprehensive after-sales service system is crucial, including equipment installation and commissioning, operation training, regular maintenance, and troubleshooting. Good after-sales service ensures long-term stable equipment operation.

Compliance and Environmental Standards

Emission Standards: Ensure that the exhaust gas emission concentration after treatment complies with local environmental protection department standards to avoid penalties for non-compliance.

Certification and Testing: Prioritize equipment with relevant national certifications (such as environmental product certification), as their performance and quality are more guaranteed.

In summary, the selection of catalytic combustion equipment requires consideration of factors such as individual needs,

waste gas characteristics, and budget. A comprehensive evaluation of the equipment's performance, safety, energy efficiency, and after-sales service is necessary to ensure that the equipment meets environmental protection requirements and achieves long-term stable operation.
