How to Select the Number of Filter Bags for Crusher Baghouse Dust Collectors ?


When selecting the number of filter bags for a crusher baghouse dust collector, the air handling capacity of a crusher is generally 20,000 m³/h based on the size of the dust suction hood. A filtration velocity of 1.2 m/min is selectable for the crusher dust collector, from which a filtration area of 270 m² is calculated. With the filter bag specification of 133×2000 mm, the DMC-320 Pulse Baghouse Dust Collector is the optimal selection. 

The dust collector consists of an upper box, middle box, hopper, support frame, filter bag assembly, injection device, ash discharge device, as well as detection and control systems. The complete dust collector unit is also equipped with auxiliary equipment including an inspection platform, lighting system and maintenance power supply. 

Working Principle:
Dust-laden gas enters the dust collector through the air inlet on the hopper. Large dust particles are separated and fall directly into the hopper, while the remaining dust enters the filtration zone of the middle box with the air flow. The filtered clean gas passes through the filter bags, exits the dust collector via the upper box and exhaust flue, and is directly discharged into the atmosphere through the fan and chimney. During filtration, when dust accumulation on the filter bag surface reaches a certain level, the ash cleaning control device (controlled by differential pressure, timing or manual operation) takes the current unit off-line according to the set program, and activates the electromagnetic pulse valve for injection to shake off dust on the filter bags. Dust falling into the hopper is transported to the pneumatic ash conveying system via a pneumatic bin pump. The pulse jet baghouse dust collector removes dust accumulation on filter bags by periodically injecting compressed air into the bags. It features high efficiency and large air handling capacity. In addition, the absence of mechanical rapping components for ash cleaning minimizes filter bag damage and effectively extends the service life of filter bags. The pulse injection pressure of 0.4~0.6 MPa enables thorough dust removal from the filter bags, ensuring the normal operation of the equipment. 

This pulse dust collector is an outside-in type device, where dust-laden gas flows outside the filter bags and clean air inside, with filter bag openings facing upward. The ash cleaning function is realized by controlling the on-line ash cleaning chamber via differential pressure, timing or manual operation, and activating the pulse injection valve for injection. This causes radial deformation of the filter bags to shake off accumulated dust.

Filter Media Selection for Crusher Baghouse Dust Collectors Based on the characteristics of dust generated during crusher operation, **antistatic membrane-coated polyester needle-punched felt** is adopted for the filter media. The membrane

coated filter bags offer water and oil resistance, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, oxidation corrosion resistance, dust non-adhesion, hydrophobicity, chemical stability and abrasion resistance, and can adapt to all dust and working characteristics of crushers.
