This smart approach maximizes compressed air efficiency, extends the operational life of our high-performance filter bags, and maintains a stable, low system pressure drop. We utilize filter media specifically selected for the application, such as P84® or silicone-coated fiberglass bags, capable of continuous operation at 200°C with peak resistance up to 220°C. Application Area:

This system is purpose-built for the demanding environment of primary and secondary fume extraction from Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) and Ladle Furnaces (LF). During the scrap melting, oxygen lancing, refining, and tapping processes, these furnaces generate immense volumes of extremely fine, abrasive, and often sticky dust. This dust plume is primarily composed of iron oxides (FeO, Fe2O3), but also contains significant amounts of zinc oxide, lead, and other heavy metals liberated from the scrap. Uncontrolled, this fume creates severe problems: it accelerates equipment wear, poses significant respiratory health risks to personnel, contaminates the mill environment, and leads to substantial material loss. Effective capture and control are not just regulatory necessities but critical components of efficient, safe, and profitable steel production.

 

Our Solution:

LEFILTER delivers a complete, integrated turnkey fume management solution, not just an isolated filter. Our process begins upstream with effective gas conditioning. We design and supply evaporative cooling systems or air-to-air heat exchangers to reliably lower the gas temperature to a range safe for filtration, protecting the filter bags. Critical spark-arresting and coarse-particle separation chambers are integrated to prevent damage from glowing particles. The baghouse itself features a compartmentalized design, allowing for online maintenance and filter bag replacement without shutting down the entire system. To ensure uninterrupted dust discharge, we equip hoppers with electric heating panels and continuous level monitoring to prevent moisture absorption and bridging. Discharge is handled by heavy-duty, airlock rotary valves. The entire system is engineered to guarantee outlet emissions consistently below 10 mg/Nm³, ensuring compliance with the strictest international environmental standards while enabling the recovery of valuable metallic dust for recycling.
