How Often Should the Bags of a Baghouse Dust Collector Be Replaced?
There is no fixed replacement cycle for baghouse filter bags, as it depends on the filter material, working conditions, cleaning system operation, and maintenance.
However, general ranges exist, and equipment performance indicates when replacement is needed.
Under good conditions (low dust, normal temperature/humidity, non-corrosive, low-abrasive dust), polyester/polypropylene bags last 2-3 years,
while PPS/PTFE bags last 3-5 years. Harsh conditions (high temperature/humidity/dust, abrasive/corrosive dust) shorten the replacement cycle to 6-12 months, or 3-6 months in extreme cases.
Key replacement signs: a sharp drop in dust removal efficiency (exceeding emission standards with normal equipment/seals), persistent high resistance (above 1800Pa after cleaning),
and obvious dust leakage from inspection doors or ash outlets (due to broken/worn bags).
Replace all bags in one dust collector if possible—damaged bags overburden the others. Use bags of the same type and specification to ensure matching and consistent dust removal.
