How to Select Baghouse Dust Collectors for Foundries?
Foundry dust has the characteristics of high temperature (120-180℃), high concentration, strong abrasiveness, and contains metal particles (e.g., iron powder, aluminum powder).
Selecting baghouse dust collectors must focus on the following six points:
1. High-temperature and wear-resistant filter materials:
Select PPS, FMS, or glass fiber filter bags, which can withstand high-temperature flue gas and resist wear from metal dust. Avoid ordinary polyester bags (easily damaged by high temperature and abrasion).
2. Large processing capacity:
Foundries generate a large amount of dust during melting, casting, and polishing. Select a dust collector with sufficient air handling capacity (10-20% margin) to ensure thorough dust treatment.
3. Efficient cleaning system:
Choose a pulse cleaning system with strong cleaning capacity (e.g., air box pulse) to thoroughly clean the metal dust adhering to the filter bag surface, avoiding blockage
.
4. Explosion-proof performance:
Some foundry dust (e.g., aluminum powder, magnesium powder) is flammable and explosive. The dust collector must be equipped with explosion relief, spark extinguishing, and anti-static measures.
5. Good sealing performance:
The box, access door, and pipeline connections must be tightly sealed to prevent metal dust leakage (metal dust is harmful to human health and may cause environmental pollution).
6. Easy maintenance:
Metal dust has strong abrasiveness, so filter bags need to be replaced frequently. Select equipment with convenient bag replacement and simple maintenance to reduce downtime and labor costs.
